Yahoo News Danish retail chain known for 'stylish' decor set to open first North East store
A Danish retail chain is set to open its first North East store in Newcastle.
Søstrene Grene has announced it will be moving into a unit in the upper mall of Eldon Square, next door to jewellery chain Swarovski.
The firm - which has locations in York, Sheffield, and Manchester - is known for its Scandinavian-inspired products across homeware, furniture, crafts, and the kitchen.
It also stocks a variety of children’s toys, specialty food and candy, gift-wrapping, and party supplies - and is known for being "full of choice" according to customers.

The new store is described online as "the perfect place to find inspiration and add cosy, stylish touches to your home."
While an opening date has not been confirmed just yet, Eldon Square has teased that the chain will be "opening soon" online, with reports circulating that it will be launching this summer.
New signs have since gone up in the shopping complex for the store, which state: "Look forward to discovering Søstrene Grene's wide selection of lovely and quirky finds for the home, the kitchen, life's big and small celebrations, and for creative moments - and much more."
This news comes just weeks after beauty giant Sephora announced it would be opening two new stores in the North East this year.

These include a new location at the Metrocentre, in Gateshead, and another in Eldon Square, beside the Schuh store.
The Northern Echo also recently reported how bosses at Newcastle City Council are set to borrow almost £8 million to help pay for a major redevelopment of Eldon Square.
Earlier this year, £65 million plans were approved to transform both the disused former Eldon Leisure Centre and the top floor of the vacant Debenhams turned into new food, drink, culture, leisure and entertainment spaces.
