Danniella Westbrook shared throwback snaps from early in her career as she talked about learning to face the consequences of her “mayhem”.

The former EastEnders actor – who has been open about her past struggles with drug use - also told fans that she had “begun to evolve”.

Posting a series of images from across her career on Instagram, the 49-year-old wrote: “I've learnt a lot of things way too late in my journey.

“One is the ability to face the consequences that my mayhem caused.

“By starting the journey of healing from the inside, I've finally begun to evolve for the first time in my life.”

She added the hashtags: “#itallstartswithin #healingtrauma #evolving #lovingmyself”.

Westbrook shot to fame playing Walford’s Sam Mitchell in 1990.

Her cocaine use was widely publicised in the tabloids throughout the 90s and 2000s and the star said in 2019 that she was just one relapse away from dying.

She suffered damage to her nasal septum and has also previously said that a botched surgery left her with osteoporosis which was making the bones in her face weaken.

The actor has been undergoing facial reconstruction and last year told fans she couldn’t wait for it all to be done as she was “ready to get busy living… and busy working”.

"I have a feeling it’s all going to work out just fine,” she wrote on Instagram.
