Debra Messing shares first picture of Friends actor David Schwimmer on the set of Will & Grace

Actress Debra Messing has shared a first look at David Schwimmer on the set of Will & Grace.

The Friends star is set for a new TV role as a guest star in the sitcom, which stars Messing as Grace alongside Eric McCormack’s Will, in the upcoming series.

It is understood that Schwimmer, who played Ross Geller in fellow NBC sitcom Friends, will appear as a love interest for Grace in the second series of the rebooted comedy.

In the Instagram snap, Schwimmer is dressed in grey jeans and a navy hoodie next to McCormack, who is wearing the same jeans but a blue hoodie.

Messing, 50, captioned: “This was not planned. @eric_mccormack @_schwim_ #WillandGrace.”

Fans were beside themselves with excitement at the confirmation of the actor’s upcoming role, flooding Messing’s post with comments.

One wrote: “The greatest thing that could ever happen in my life!!!!!!”

While another said: “Will & Ross this is going to be hilarious!! Can't wait!!”

“Omg this just made my whole week,” gasped somebody else.

According to a Deadline report earlier this month, Schwimmer will appear in five episodes of the popular show, though scripts are still thought to be in the works.

The classic sitcom has previously aired on Channel 5 over in the UK, although it is unclear if new episodes will continue to do so.
