Dele Alli beats Kylian Mbappe to be crowned world's most valuable player under 21

Tottenham's Dele Alli has beaten off competition from Kylian Mbappe to be crowned the world's most valuable player aged under 21.

According to the Soccerex 20 U21 report, which uses Prime Time Sport’s Football Value Index on players born on or after January 1, 1996, the Tottenham star is valued at £73.6million.

The two-time PFA Young Player of the Year easily beats Mbappe to the honour, the Monaco youngster valued at £55m, in part to Alli playing 1545 more first-team minutes last season.

Mbappe scored 15 goals as Monaco won the Ligue 1 title and added a further six in the club's run to the Champions League semi-finals.

In comparison, Alli scored 18 goals as Tottenham finished second in the Premier League, adding a further four in other competitions.

Borussia Dortmund's Ousmane Dembele completes the top three, just missing out on second spot with a valuation of £54.3m.

Alli's valuation as risen from £28.8m in the 12 months since Soccerex's last report. Manchester United's Marcus Rashford in seventh place is the only other Englishman in the top 10.
