Demonstrators Chant 'Black Lives Matter' During Charleena Lyles Protest in Seattle

Protesters marched through the streets of Seattle on June 22, chanting the name of Charleena Lyles, a 30-year-old woman who was shot by the police four days earlier.

This footage shows the protesters chanting ‘Black Lives Matter’ as they march down Seattle’s Virginia Street.

Lyles was killed after police officers responded to reports of a burglary near Seattle’s Magnuson Park. Her family members claimed deadly force was used when less lethal methods were available, and believe race was a factor in the shooting. Credit: Twitter/demiwetzel via Storyful
