Denise Welch Checks On Son Matt Healy Through His Security Because He’s So Busy

Denise Welch’s son, The 1975′s Matt Healy, is enjoying so much amazing success with the band that his mum is forced to check up on him through his security.

The 1975 have amassed a huge, loyal fanbase over their career, even selling out the O2 Arena in just three hours.

Discussing her son’s achievements with Susanna Reid and Ben Shephard on Good Morning Britain, Denise said: “When he sells out the O2 [Arena] in three hours, I’m like, ‘I can’t believe you came out of me!’”

The TV star, who revealed that she ‘loves being in LA’, explained that it can be hard to keep in touch, saying: “My eldest son is in LA a lot. He’s on a world tour, I never know where he is from one minute to the next. I miss him so much because I’ve lost him to this world.

“[He texts me] just ‘k’ or just kiss so I phone security Mark and find out where he is and what they are doing but you know of course I miss him but I couldn’t be more thrilled [that he is doing well].”

She added: “He said I’m turning into the mother from The Sopranos like, 'You don’t call, you don’t ring, I make you tea you don’t come…”

That’s what mums are for, right?
