Dolphins spotted in River Thames as marine life rescue alerted

Dolphins and porpoise have been spotted in their River Thames after making their way to London. In a tweet from MPS On The Water, they said that they aware that dolphins/porpoise have made their way into London.

The relevant authorities have been alerted, including the London Port Authority and the British Divers Marine Life Rescue teams. Pictures show the sea creatures' dorsal fins sticking out above the water on the River Thames.

It is believed that the last time Dolphins were spotted in the River Thames was 2017 when a video emerged of dolphins swimming close to Embankment Pier. On Februrary 26 2017, Staff from the Thames RIB Experience saw the dolphin swimming around for a couple of hours in the water, close to Embankment Pier.

One of the director's at Thames RIB Experience, Charlotte McGlinchey told MyLondon at the time: "The staff were at Embankment Pier and then one of the ladies, Lottie, spotted the Dolphin and then every time as it went a bit quiet, when there weren't a lot of boats around, then the dolphin would pop out of the water."
