Donald Trump looked slightly confused as an invasion of children at the White House marked America's annual Bring Your Sons And Daughters To Work Day.

Youngsters descended on workplaces across the country - and Pennsylvania Avenue was no exception, with the offspring of people who work at the White House visiting for the day.

A game Trump signed autographs and spoke to the mass of children.

One reporter at the scene wrote: "The president has spent 15 minutes with our kids. He's also tweeted 6 times simultaneously, apparently".

Many White House reporters brought their children into work. One shared a photograph of them sitting in the press room, and wrote: "I hope @PressSec brings his A game today".

Sean Spicer briefed the children, before they were all taken bowling.

One precocious child asked the Press Secretary about NAFTA. Taken aback, he asked "who are your parents?" before answering the question.
