Donald Trump 'totally hates' Nicola Sturgeon and keeps 'bitching' about Scottish leader, adviser reveals

If Theresa May is feeling a little bruised by Donald Trump’s comments today, she can at least take comfort in one thing – she is not Nicola Sturgeon.

An anonymous former UK government adviser has revealed that the US president ‘totally hates’ Scotland’s First Minister.

The revelation came as the US President touched down in the UK for a four-day controversial visit.

‘He totally hates Nicola Sturgeon. He spends lots of his time bitching about Sturgeon,’ the adviser told the Huffington Post.

‘He loathes (Alex) Salmond too. But why spend so much time talking about Sturgeon in a phone call with Theresa May?’

The official went said that President Trump keeps raising in her phone calls with Number 10.

Trump, whose mother was from Scotland, has a stormy relationship with Edinburgh’s leaders largely linked to developments at a golf resort he owns there.

He was embroiled in a long-running spat with Scottish politicians over the development of a golf course in Aberdeenshire and has clashed with Sturgeon over a wind farm near the course.

The farm opened earlier this month, even though it was opposed by Trump who claimed it was ugly and spoiled the view for those at the golf club.

Trump had threatened to pull out of Scotland if the wind farm was build near the Trump International Golf Links course, but the Scottish government went ahead anyway.

The Scottish leader has even been crowing about her victory in recent days, and how the Edinburgh government beat a ‘famous golf course owner from America’ in court after Trump’s side took legal action.

The President will visit Scotland on his four-day trip to the UK, staying at another of his luxury golf resorts, Turnberry.

But any chance that Trump and Sturgeon might meet when he touches down in Scotland have been dashed.

He will be met at Glasgow’s Prestwick airport by an official from the British, not the Scottish government instead.

Scottish police have prevented the Trump ‘baby blimp’ being used in protests in London on Friday from being flown over his Turnberry.
