Cruz Beckham followed his mum into the music industry last month with the release of his debut single, 'If Every Day was Christmas', at the age of 11.

The song may not have dented the top 100 in the Official UK Singles Chart but when you've got a Spice Girl turned fashion designer for a mum and a world famous footballer for a dad, we reckon you don't give up easily.

Of course, disappointing chart positions are just one of the many pressures of the music industry, and people are understandably worried it might be too much for a boy who's not yet in his teenage years.

One of those people expressing concern is Donny Osmond, who knows a thing or two about being a child performer.

Speaking to the Metro, Osmond said there is "no problem" about Cruz's young fame, but "it all depends on the parents".

"I started at five, and I think I handled it well. But I had a great family. It all depends on how the Beckhams handle it.

"It's a treacherous world if you just throw your child out there and let him go about his own business without any restrictions or guidelines. I think it's a fantastic business to be in if you can be successful and keep it all in perspective."

"I take the trash out," he elaborated. "I mow the lawn, I do my own laundry and I clean the house. I don't have people do things for me because, you've got to keep your feet on the ground."

While we're on the subject of The Osmonds, 'Crazy Horses' is just the best thing ever isn't it?

Yes, yes it is.
