A DORSET post office is temporarily closed for extensive building work.

Lytchett Matravers Post Office has temporarily closed for a few weeks.

The reason behind the closure is to carry out extensive building works.

The post office has been closed since June 12 and will reopen on July 26.

Alternative post office stores nearby include Upton Post Office and Hillview Post Office in Corfe Mullen.

Daniel Rooney, Post Office multiple account executive, said: “We apologise for any inconvenience caused to our customers during the work.

“The safety of our customers is of paramount, therefore, to allow for the building work to take place, it is necessary for the service to close temporarily.”
