Dr Michael Mosley police had CCTV footage of last moments 'for four days' before he was found

Police in Symi had crucial CCTV footage of Dr Michael Mosley’s last movements "for four days" before he was found. CCTV footage filmed outside a bar showed the Brit TV star close to the safety of beach resort Agia Marina.

The footage of the ITV, BBC and Channel 4 star was reportedly given to cops on Wednesday night. Medical expert and healthcare professional Dr Mosley was on holiday with his wife Clare Mosley - who raised the alarm after he disappeared on Wednesday.

Dr Mosley was found just a 90-second walk away from help as he came within reach of a bar at Agia Marina in Symi in Greece. An extensive four-day search included firefighters, drones, volunteers and helicopters. Cops admitted they had seen the footage, handed in on Wednesday after reports of Dr Mosley's disappearance, Live News reports.

Police claimed it was hard to identify his body in the footage as it appeared as a small dot. It showed Dr Mosley struggling at around 3.45pm on Wednesday, the day he vanished and the day an autopsy later found he had died.

Symi police chief Dimos Kotsidaras said: "It looks like cause of death was heat exhaustion after walking in high temperatures from St Nicholas to Agia Marina." Dr Mosley's body was found on the right hand side of a wall near Agia Marina, but hidden from easy view.

A Greek police spokesperson and the island’s mayor said the position in which the Briton was found – face up with his left hand placed over his chest – in addition to the lack of injuries played a decisive role in the coroner’s conclusion.

“He wasn’t found face down, he was found face up which suggests he may have felt dizzy or simply unwell and laid down,” said Symi’s mayor, Lefteris Papakaloudoukas. “I think that says a lot.”
