Drivers have been hampered by flooding after a deluge of rain overnight.

Residents in Haywards Heath faced disruption after deep flood waters blocked a section of road earlier today.

Fire crews taped off part of Portsmouth Lane to prevent motorists becoming trapped as deep flooding continue to cause issues this afternoon.

Residents were out inspecting the scene this afternoon as the flooding north of the town recedes slowly.

West Sussex Fire and Rescue service continue to support efforts to stop drivers from becoming stranded in deep water.

It comes as flooding in Wivelsfield causes issues for rail passengers among a slew of incidents affecting trains this afternoon.

The fire service was approached for comment.

A bear fell from a tree onto a tarp after it was tranquilized in Lakewood, Washington, on Wednesday, May 15, footage posted to Facebook shows.The Lakewood Police Department said that the black bear had been spotted “cruising the neighborhoods” in the area.
