Dunelm shop and cafe ordered to close down by authorities

A popular Kilmarnock shop remains closed after being ordered to close by authorities.

It's been claimed that a gas leak has shut down Dunelm at Glencairn Retail Park in the town.

The alarm was first raised last week and teams are now scrambling to rectify the issue.

Part of Holmquarry Road has been completely closed as SGN teams work at the side of the store.

Various parts of the road have been dug up by crews working at the scene.

No other shops have been affected by the reported gas leak and remain open at the moment.

It's understood that the store was shut down on Wednesday by authorities and has remained closed since.

A statement in the window reads: "Closed until further notice by order of Scottish Gas. Please check our Facebook page for update. Sorry for any inconvenience."
