Yahoo News Dwayne Johnson confirms Black Adam starts filming in 2020
Fans waiting for over a decade to see Dwayne Johnson as the Worlds of DC's ultimate anti-hero thankfully won't have to wait very much longer.
The Fast and Furious star has had notorious difficulty getting a solo project for the Egyptian god off the ground, having the project go in and out of development many times during the rise of superhero cinema.
At one time, Johnson was even asked by Warner Bros if he'd rather play Black Adam's heroic counterpart Shazam! before that role went to Zachary Levi, but The Rock stood his ground by staying with Teth-Adam.
Following recent reports that there was finally some progress at Warner Bros on making a Black Adam movie a reality, Dwayne confirmed on Friday (October 18) that he indeed does have a firm production date on his calendar.
The ex-WWE star responded to an image of a sculptor's model of what he'd look like as Teth, when he revealed: "Very cool man, thank you. Amazing detail. This project has been with me for over 10yrs🖤⚡️ Production begins this July. Appreciate the support."

There you have it! Dwayne will finally start laying the smackdown all over the Worlds of DC beginning in 2020 – so Batman, Superman, Aquaman and Shazam! should consider themselves on notice.
An eventual showdown could actually happen, but Zachary Levi recently hinted DC fans will have to be patient.
"If we do a third Shazam! and a second Black Adam, kind of [parallel] like that, that's where we would [meet]," he said.
"Because he's like the ultimate bad guy for [original moniker] Captain Marvel, Shazam. Like [Shazam and] Black Adam, they're doppelgängers right, the evil twin to who I am. So that's got to be like the final battle. If we do that in the second movie, then where do we go after that?"
