EastEnders fans say Cindy Beale twist was ruined by spoilers
Viewers are thrilled to see Cindy but wish the secret hadn't got out
EastEnders fans have claimed that the Cindy Beale twist was “ruined” by spoilers.
Cindy (Michelle Collins), the wife of Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt), was a Walford favourite back in the late 80s and 90s but the character was thought to have been killed off in 1998.
However, it turns out she wasn’t dead after all and she has returned 25 years later, with Ian also heading back to Albert Square.

Many fans of the BBC soap were gripped as it was revealed that Rose Knight, George Knight’s (Colin Salmon) long lost wife, was actually Cindy.
But others were annoyed that that rumours of Cindy’s return had been doing the rounds beforehand.
“Too bad we already knew!” one person moaned on Twitter.
“This could have been Kathy Beale on New Year's Eve great! You lot ruined it with the spoilers.”
“If that spoiler hadn’t been leaked, that would’ve been one of the greatest soap reveals EVER!” said another.
“I hate whoever ruined it.”
Somebody else said: “Shame it was let out, more shock factor had it been kept secret.”
“What a shock, Rose is Cindy, only kidding the worst kept secret,” posted another viewer.
“Such a shame tonight’s EastEnders reveal was spoilt and the secret got out before airing!” one person tweeted.

“I honestly wish they kept Cindy’s return a secret because it’s took away the surprise and suspense, if it had been kept under wraps we would of all of gone OMG CINDY BEALE IS BACK!!!” another fan said.
“Sick of spoilers spoiling EastEnders before they’re actually aired,” grumbled someone else.
What has actor Collins said of her return?
Collins has said it’s an “honour” to be back.
“For over 25 years I’ve constantly been asked ‘are you going back’ and now finally I can say I am!” she said in a statement.

“It’s an honour to be asked to reprise the role of Cindy Beale, a character that has really never left me, and just like the old days, where Cindy goes, drama usually follows.”
