EastEnders: Max Branning Returns And He Wants Revenge

Now it wouldn’t be Christmas without some level of carnage in Albert Square, would it? Well thankfully for us, this year doesn’t look set to disappoint us at all – as we’ve just seen the newly-released teaser pictures for Max Branning’s return to Walford.

Max will be returning to E20 on Christmas Day – and from the looks of these newly-released pictures, he’s set to cross paths with his nemesis, Phil Mitchell.

Fans of the show will remember that Phil famously stole the car lot from Max, and helped the Beales frame him for Lucy’s murder to prevent the true killer – Bobby Beale – from going to prison.

When Max was eventually acquitted, he avoided the square – but posted a letter through the Beale’s door telling them that he’d never forget what the family did to him.

And when Max – played by Strictly alumnus Jake Wood – comes back to find his daughters enjoying a Christmas Day dinner at Casa del Beale, he’s probably not going to be thrilled at the new extension of his family.

We would imagine Max isn’t exactly harbouring feelings of goodwill to Phil either – especially as Phil ended up demolishing the car lot in a drunken stupor (and almost killing his daughter too, but that’s just a side note).

Meanwhile, Ronnie and Roxy Mitchell are set to meet a grisly end over the festive period, with it being hotly rumoured that the pair will drown on New Year’s Day – although this has not been confirmed by show bosses.

It has also been revealed that Christmas will see Lee Carter’s depression battle come to a head as his mountain of secrets becomes too much for him to handle – will he admit to stealing his mum’s charity money?

With Danny-Boy Hatchard, the actor who plays Lee, set to bow out of the show in the coming weeks, some fans speculate that the Carters will not be having a happy Christmas this year.

It’s the most wonderful time of the year!
