EastEnders recently featured a last minute added reference to England's win over Germany in the finals of Euro 2022.

In a scene shot after the 2-1 win over Germany at Wembley Stadium on Sunday, 31 July, various characters can be seen in the Queen Vic celebrating England's first major football trophy since 1966.

The scene features Kim Fox, Lola Pearce and Queen Vic landlady Linda Carter enjoying a drink and raising a toast to the victorious football team.

At one point, Kim says: "Every single one of them is a role model, I'm telling you. If you can see it, you can be it," making reference to the number of women and girls who have taken an interest in football over the summer.

Linda also joked that she would whip out her own sports bra, a nod to Chloe Kelly's celebration after she scored England's winner in extra time.

EastEnders airs on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show can also be streamed on BBC iPlayer.
