The EastEnders bullying plot finally came to a dramatic climax at the school prom where Louise Mitchell (Tilly Keeper) ended up getting seriously burned.

School bullies Madison Drake (Seraphina Beh) and Alexandra D'Costa (Sydney Craven) have been terrorising Bex Fowler (Jasmine Armfield) and Louise for months, but there were finally caught for their terrible behaviour after they gatecrashed the Walford High prom and caused the horrific accident.

The incident left Louise in a devastating condition, but the bullies ended the episode by being taken away by the police, and now the actresses who play the bullies have hinted that those scenes were the last we'll see of Mads and Alex on the soap.

"Alex & Mads have left the building," Sydney wrote on Twitter alongside a video of the pair being led out of the prom.

She also posted a picture of the whole cast together, looking drenched from the sprinklers having gone off, and shared that she's had the best time on the soap.

"I've had the best time and got to meet some of the most amazing people! Team Youth it's been a pleasure," she added.

Seraphina also added to the suggestion we won't be seeing more from the bullies any time soon.

"Really blessed working @tillykeeper @jasarmfield @shaheenofficial @_Zack_Morris @Alexphelps96," she wrote. "@Syd_Craven we did our thing#LoveYouAll."

But, while the tweets all point to Friday's episode being one of the last we'll see Mads and Alex in, there's still every chance they could pop up in some shape or form further down the line. As we all know, soaps love to bring back characters when you least expect it.

While the aftermath of Louise's injuries are not yet known, the incident has led to the surprise return of her mum Lisa Fowler.

Lucy Benjamin has reprised her role as Lisa for a brief stint, meaning fans can expect to see huge fireworks when she comes face to face with her ex-flame Phil next week.

EastEnders continues on Monday, July 24 at 8pm on BBC One.
