‘EastEnders’ tonight: Will Linda expose Janine’s crimes?
There’s a tense wait in EastEnders — which airs tonight at 7.30pm on BBC One — as Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) is set to be woken from her coma.
Last week, Janine Butcher (Charlie Brooks) got behind the wheel of Linda’s car when the latter was too drunk to drive; but the pair ended up in a serious accident when Janine lost control of the vehicle and collided with a tree.
In the aftermath, Janine framed a seriously injured Linda by moving her into the drivers’ seat, before fleeing the scene.

Janine’s partner — and Linda’s estranged husband — Mick (Danny Dyer) was distraught as doctors explained that Linda was now in a coma. She needed an operation, and there was a risk that she could be left with brain damage.
Meanwhile, Janine convinced Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean) to keep quiet about the con she pulled off on Mick and Linda’s daughter Nancy (Maddy Hill). But as she supported Mick, Janine was confronted by young daughter Scarlett (Tabitha Byron), who spotted her own minor injury from the crash.

It didn’t take her long to realise her mum was behind what had happened to Linda, and Scarlett rushed to the Queen Vic pub to tell Mick everything. But upon finding the man sobbing, Scarlett stayed silent, seeing how much he needed Janine.
Everything changed when Mick then received a call from the hospital, informing him that the swelling on Linda’s brain had gone down and doctors were planning to rouse her from the coma the next day. Janine’s blood ran cold, and Sharon coolly remarked how worried she looked.

Janine’s immediate reaction was to head home and start packing, and Scarlett was dismayed when she revealed they had to leave Walford. Her decision not to talk to Mick was based on the fact that she thought Janine would be there for him.
Janine frantically explained that although the crash was an accident, no one would believe her if Linda spoke up; and so they had to go straight away.
As EastEnders returns tonight, will Janine follow through with her exit plans, or might Scarlett expose her before she can?
We can’t answer that! All we can tease is that, much to the relief of her loved ones, Linda will be regaining consciousness as promised. But will she remember how she ended up in such a fragile state?
Everyone is currently under the impression that Linda drove while under the influence of alcohol with baby Annie in the backseat, and social services have been alerted.
Has Linda sustained brain damage, or will all her memories be intact? Are Janine's days of freedom numbered?
Tune in to EastEnders tonight at 7.30pm to find out.
