An Edinburgh woman living in a high-rise tower block woke up to find a bike missing from her front door as a masked figure was also spotted outside the flat during the night.

The woman took to Facebook in an attempt to track down the missing bike after it was reportedly taken during the early hours of Wednesday morning, May 15, from her Calders flat.

A man was also spotted outside the resident's flat with his face covered as she claims he was also in possession of a tool which resembled a 'crowbar'.

The concerned resident shared an appeal for information online after posting an image from her video doorbell and the small orange bike. It is understood the incident was not reported to police.

On Thursday, we reported how a masked creep was spotted lurking in people's gardens in Craigentinny. A resident told us it is a regular occurrence and she often checks her doorbell footage to see unknown figures in her garden.

The incident was captured in the early hours of May 11, and shows an individual wearing a t-short, jogging trousers and a mask walking through the private garden.

As doorbell cameras increase in popularity, people across Edinburgh have been catching individuals around their houses more often. Earlier this month, a woman in Clermiston caught someone "stealing plant pots".
