Edinburgh police search home and wheelie bins during incident on housing estate

Police officers raced to an Edinburgh housing estate after reports of a disturbance.

Images shared on social media show several police cars and officers swarm to an address on Bingham Broadway on Thursday, June 27.

In the clip, posted online, several officers can be seen searching the area, including one riffling through wheelie bins.

Police Scotland told Edinburgh Live enquiries were 'ongoing' following the incident.

A spokesman said: “Around 6.15pm on Thursday, 27 June, 2024 officers executed a warrant and an address on Bingham Broadway in Edinburgh.

“Enquiries are ongoing.”

Meanwhile, Edinburgh police are investigating the alleged sexual assault of two schoolgirls at the weekend.

Officers said enquiries were 'ongoing' after reports the two teenagers, aged 14 and 15 were victims of the crime on Cramond Beach on Saturday, June 29.

Edinburgh Live understands the pair were approached by a group of youths on a 'quad bike' on the first day of school summer holidays in the capital.
