Edinburgh woman, 26, rushed to hospital after she is 'attacked by dogs' in property

An Edinburgh woman was rushed to hospital on Thursday morning after being attacked by two dogs within a Leith property

Around 9.15am on May 16, police were made aware of the incident and quickly raced to the scene on Academy Street, Leith.

The 26-year-old woman was rushed to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh to be treated for her "serious injuries". Police Scotland confirmed that they were still in attendance at around 12pm on Thursday.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 9.15am on Thursday, May 16, 2024 officers were called to reports of a person having been attacked by two dogs within a property at Academy Street, Leith.

"Emergency services attended and a 26-year-old woman was taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh by ambulance with serious injuries.

"Officers remain in attendance and enquiries are ongoing."

A spokesperson for the Scottish Ambulance Service said: “We received a call at 9:10 hours today to attend an incident on Academy Street, Edinburgh. We dispatched one ambulance to the scene and one patient was transport to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary.”
