Emmerdale's Laurel Thomas, portrayed by Charlotte Bellamy, is set to face a horrifying ordeal in the forthcoming episodes. The ITV soap's official spoilers indicate that her health is about to deteriorate.

Her spouse, Jai Sharma, played by Chris Bisson, confesses to Laurel that he is unable to reveal the truth to his half-brother Suni Sharma, which infuriates her. As their disagreement intensifies, Jai offends Ashley.

Fuming, Laurel dismisses Jai, not wanting their dispute to escalate further. However, when she's alone, things take a drastic turn.

She soon begins to feel faint and collapses on the floor. Terrified by her condition, Laurel struggles to move as her phone starts ringing.

But due to her predicament, she can't reach it, reports the Express.

When Gabby Thomas, played by Rosie Bentham, discovers Laurel gasping for breath, she urgently requests her stepdaughter to dial an ambulance.

Deciding to finally disclose the truth to Suni, Jai invites him to The Hide and attempts to initiate the conversation he needs to have, despite his brother's incessant chatter.

However, with Gabby's continuous calls, Jai abruptly loses his temper, although his rage diminishes when he learns of Laurel's collapse.

Has the strain of uncovering Jai's secret overwhelmed Laurel?

In recent scenes, viewers of the ITV soap witnessed Laurel uncover the truth about Jai and Amit Sharma, played by Anil Goutam.

A few months back, Emmerdale fans were shocked when Amit killed Jai's father, Rishi Sharma (Bhasker Patel), by pushing him down the stairs.

Jai, having grown suspicious of Amit, managed to extract a confession from him in a dramatic turn of events, mirroring the fatal push that claimed his father's life.

In a dark twist, Jai coerced Amit into removing his other son, Suni, from the HOP's ownership as part of a revenge plot.

To ensure Amit's permanent exit, Jai coldly instructed him to leave the village without farewells and threatened to expose him if he dared return.

Meanwhile, Eric Pollard (Chris Chittell) stumbled upon the truth and began to blackmail Jai, seeking to keep the secret under wraps.

As Laurel became increasingly wary of Eric's behaviour, Jai spun her a distorted version of the events, which led to her outrage at the deception played on Suni regarding his inheritance.

Actor Chris Bisson, discussing the evolving plot, hinted at a darker path for his character, Jai.

He commented: "I think he is going to become a bit more ruthless. He feels he has been taken for a bit of a fool and he feels like that is never going to happen again."

Adding a personal touch, Bisson expressed his enjoyment of this shift, saying, "So yes maybe Bad Jai is back! And do you know what I quite like bad Jai. He's fun to play! ".
