Cain then calls the number and an oblivious Al answers, not realising who’s on the other end of the line. But Cain now knows who it is that Chas has been seeing in secret – and so decides to set a trap.
What we’ll see next is Al being enticed to see Chas, only to find himself met by a steely Cain and the business end of a shotgun. Cain’s contempt is plain for Al to see, but this doesn’t stop the blasé businessman from striding away. However, Cain reveals that he only had the firearm to get Al’s attention – and the two men then resort to fighting it out.
The trouble is, as the struggle intensifies, the gazes of both men fall upon the gun lying nearby. And as they make a grasp for it, the sound of a shot rings out – but who has pulled the trigger and who has taken the bullet?
Kim and Will resort to kidnapping
The cash from Harriet’s will isn’t enough for Billy and Dawn to keep their house and the pair are left worried that they’ll be homeless. And their fears only grow further when Alex then threatens to take Clemmie away if he doesn’t get what money there is.
On the day of Harriet’s funeral, Will decides to muscle in, manhandling Alex and ordering him to leave Dawn alone. But Alex is left unphased. Kim then tries a different tactic, baiting Alex to get into her car with the promise of the money he’s after. But that’s merely a precursor to him being bundled into the boot and then held captive at the Stables.
Cur a pummelling from Will that leaves Alex bloodied and bruised. But when he remains steadfast about his demands, a united Kim and Will leave him to suffer overnight…
Aaron says goodbye
It’s fair to say that this hasn’t been the cheeriest of return visits for Aaron, and as he says his goodbyes to Vinny and Paddy, it’s clear there’s little reason to expect he’ll be back.
For her part, Chas will be seen questioning Aaron on his plans – but he coldly shuts down any talk of the two of them having any kind of relationship in the future…
Dan frets over Harriet’s death
Amelia makes an emotional speech at the funeral about the loss of Harriet, which leaves Dan feeling maudlin.
But these heartfelt words also result in Dan hitting the bottle and worrying about Harriet’s true feelings towards him. And in the end, it’s Will who’s left comforting Dan with the lie that Harriet was happy and contented in her relationship.
