Yahoo News Emmerdale star Michelle Hardwick speaks out on divorce
Emmerdale star Michelle Hardwick has insisted that she's still friends with her ex-wife Rosie Nicholl as she spoke about her divorce on Lorraine today (July 26).
Michelle – who is know for her role as Vanessa Woodfield in the ITV soap – announced that she'd split with Rosie last year – having tied the knot in 2015.
But appearing on Lorraine earlier this morning, Michelle confirmed that the separation is amicable, with the pair remaining friends and joint owners to their dogs Harley and Jess.
"We're all good, we're still friends," Michelle said after Lorraine asked her about the divorce. "We've got our two dogs.
"It is [difficult] with this job, especially as I've been lucky over the last few years with Vanessa's storylines. I've been quite busy."
Michelle's character Vanessa is currently immersed in getting justice for her best friend Rhona – who was raped by her husband Pierce on their wedding day.
Vanessa is so determined to help Vanessa that she actually lied in her testimony at Pierce's trial last night – something which will come back to haunt her over the coming episodes.
"Up until last night, everyone was like, 'Come on Vanessa, you've got to get Pierce!" Michelle said.
"But last night I got a lot of tweets saying, 'No you can't, Vanessa's going to muck it up for everybody!' You completely understand where she's coming from, but it's perjury. You can't lie."
Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7pm on ITV, with an extra episode at 8pm on Thursdays.
