‘Emmerdale’ tonight: Will Moira learn the truth about Suzy?

Viewers will see the aftermath of Moira Dingle’s (Natalie J Robb) distressing reminder of daughter Holly Barton’s tragic death in tonight’s Emmerdale.

The ITV soap — which airs tonight at 7.30pm — revealed a shocking link between Holly and newcomer Suzy Merton (Martelle Edinborough). Moira previously opened up to Suzy about Holly, not knowing that Suzy actually knew her daughter.

Now, thanks to a photo displayed at a village showcase, the character’s secret has been exposed. The image featured Holly at a wedding, hours before she died of a heroin overdose.

Moira had a front row seat at the event, which was co-presented by Jai Sharma (Chris Bisson) who happened to be dating Holly before her demise.

Jai and Moira were quick to question Suzy over the photo, and she explained she had hired Holly as a wedding photographer, but failed to mention their fateful final conversation.

Suzy’s girlfriend Vanessa Woodfield (Michelle Hardwick) suspected that there was much more to it. Following Suzy to the Take A Vow office, she demanded the truth.

Suzy told Vanessa that she gave Holly cash and sent her to a dealer to buy cocaine, adding that she could also ‘treat herself’. Suzy hadn’t realised that Holly was an addict, and upon learning that the young woman had purchased heroin, she was furious.

After shouting at Holly, Suzy never saw her again — only to rock up in Emmerdale years later and find out that she had passed away. Vanessa was left stunned by Suzy’s bombshell.

Despite Suzy’s initial horror over the situation all those weeks ago, she was now more concerned with containing her involvement; and still didn’t own up when Moira apologised for coming on so strong at the showcase.

Later, Vanessa pointed out that Moira deserved to know what really happened, but Suzy begged her to keep quiet.

As Emmerdale returns tonight, what will happen next? Vanessa was present the day Moira made the shattering discovery of a lifeless Holly - so will she reveal everything or agree to her girlfriend’s huge request? And could the whole mess end her relationship with Suzy for good, whether Vanessa speaks out or not?

Might Suzy be able to maintain her reputation, or is Moira finally set to hear answers over what led to Holly’s fatal decision? If she does, will it bring her any peace or simply renew her grief?

Of course, we know that Moira is capable of violence and revenge, so it’s entirely possible that Suzy will have to watch her back if her connection to Holly becomes common knowledge.
