Luke Shaw has rejoined England training ahead of their final group game at Euro 2024.

The Manchester United player has provided Gareth Southgate's side with a timely boost as they prepare to face Slovenia in Cologne on Tuesday (June 25th).

Shaw has been struggling with a longstanding hamstring injury, which meant he didn't feature for United from February until the end of the season, with Southgate admitting it was a risk to include him in England's Euros squad.

Shaw watched England's first two group games against Serbia and Denmark from the sidelines and is still considered a major doubt for Slovenia.

After the Three Lions laboured in their opening two matches – although they sit top of Group C on four points – Shaw's impending return could be well-timed if it comes in the knockout stages, providing England get there.

Kieran Trippier has deputised at left-back in Shaw's absence. With no other recognised left-back in the squad and Trippier limited by the fact he's right-footed, the United man's return cannot come soon enough for Southgate.

All 26 members of Southgate's squad trained on Monday, with Shaw's United teammate Kobbie Mainoo also among them.

Southgate and Declan Rice will face the media later in the day to preview the Slovenia match. An England win will see them sail through to the last 16 as group winners, with a draw likely to be enough as well.
