An enraged bride has been told to rethink her decision to divorce her husband after he carried out a cruel prank their wedding day.

The bride was left devastated when her new beau broke the "one rule" she had for their big day. Now she's intent on going ahead with divorce despite pressure from her friends and family to rethink her decision, The Mirror reports.

The scorned bride claimed in an anonymous letter to agony aunt aunt Ask Prudence that she her husband "shoved" her head down into their wedding cake.

She alleged that the cruel joke was planned as he had a "bunch of cupcakes as backup". But the joke backfired with the bride storming out the wedding early. She further detailed: "I left. The next day I told him we were done. I am standing by that. The thing is that over the holidays EVERYONE has gotten together to tell me I should give him a second chance."

The bride admitted that she "never cared" about getting married, but once her boyfriend proposed they decided to tie the knot. She also said the couple split planning for their big day down the middle and that she was "pretty reasonable about compromises about what he would want.

However, she made it clear she only had one rule. That he wasn't to "rub cake in my face at the reception."

After the messy prank, the bride claimed everyone was telling her she's overreacting, despite suffering from claustrophobia. She also claims she panicked when her head was "shoved into a cake and held there".

But pals have told her to "not give up at the first hurdle".

"I don't want to, but everyone is so united and confident in their assurance I am making a terrible mistake that I wonder if they are right," she concluded.

The response from the agony aunt was that the bride has to "listen to yourself" and called his behaviour a red flag. The advice further said: "Make a mental note about which of your loved ones don’t seem to value your happiness, and continue with your divorce."
