Manchester City players will parade through the streets of the city centre on Sunday, May 26, to mark becoming the first ever male team since the inception of the Football League in 1888 to win four successive championships.

Players will travel in an open-top bus from the National Football Museum in Cathedral Gardens, along the length of Deansgate, with the parade starting at 7.30 pm and expected to end around 9 pm. And there's key advice for any fans who are heading out to join in the celebrations.

Manchester City Council is advising that the city centre is expected to be very busy on Sunday as the Great Manchester Run is also taking place that day and will see tens of thousands of runners take to the city's streets, with the final stretch of the race finishing on Deansgate. A series of road closures will be in place over the weekend to facilitate the Great Manchester Run - and additional road closures to facilitate the Manchester City Parade will also be necessary, says the council.

The parade is expected to last for two hours from 7.30pm until around 9pm owing to the Greater Manchester Run taking place earlier in the day with runners finishing the race along Deansgate. Huge crowds are expected to turn out to see the four-time champions lift the Premier League trophy from an open-top bus that will travel from the National Football Museum through Cathedral Gardens and along Deansgate, stopping at several points along the way.

The council has said the tram will be the best choice of travel on Sunday with many stops located close to spectating points along the parade route, notably Victoria, Shudehill, St Peter's Square and Deansgate-Castlefield. On Sunday, services will operate every 15 minutes across all lines.

Exchange Square tram stop will close from 5pm, with trams diverting from Victoria to St Peter's Square via Shudehill and Market Street.

Fans planning to attend Sunday's parade are being asked to use public transport where possible, to travel light - no big bags - and not to bring drinks in glass bottles with them. The additional road closures necessary to facilitate the Manchester City parade are listed here:
