Former EastEnders star Brooke Kinsella married her fiancé Simon Boardley today (December 28) in a Christmas wedding ceremony.

Brooke's manager Jonathan Shalit shared a picture of the beaming bride and her loved ones after the ceremony this afternoon and offered his congratulations to the happy couple.

"Today @brookekinsella officially most beautiful Lady in the world," he wrote. "Many many congratulations to u & Simon Boardley."

Brooke also confirmed her upcoming wedding ceremony on social media today, posting a collage on Instagram to mark the occasion and captioning it: "Today I get to marry my best friend."

Now an acting agent, Brooke starred in EastEnders as Kelly Taylor between 2001 and 2004 but in recent years has become recognised for her work as an anti-knife crime campaigner, after the murder of her 16-year-old brother Ben in 2008.

She was later given an MBE in 2011 for her campaign work and has also said she regrets not campaigning against violent crime sooner.

Brooke acknowledged the loss of her brother and his absence from her wedding in another Instagram post today, sharing a photo of a sunny landscape and adding: "There was never any doubt my little angel would bring the sun out for me today."

Brooke confirmed her engagement to Simon back in July when she shared a photo of her engagement ring alongside the phrase "and they lived happily ever after".

EastEnders airs on BBC One.
