Brits can’t help but feel the urge to flock to a pub as soon as the sun arrives. But despite spring having arrived, the weather has been a little temperamental.

New data conducted by ready-to-drink cocktail brand, NIO Cocktails, has revealed the exact date when it becomes acceptable to have a drink outside. Having reviewed weather patterns across the UK’s capital cities, the drinks brand has pin-pointed the exact dates where the weather will begin to turn so that Brits can start enjoying an alfresco tipple.

To determine the dates which offer the perfect weather conditions to enjoy a tipple outdoors, NIO Cocktails estimated the dates which will offer a dry, warm day with low winds. This included combining the average temperature being 18℃ or above, the average total rainfall being below one millimetre and the average maximum wind speed being below 16 mph across the four major UK cities.

Luckily, Brits won’t have to be waiting too long for the optimum day for a garden beer. NIO Cocktails’ research found that in England, the best time for ideal weather conditions for an outdoor drink will be from Tuesday, May 7, just after the first Bank Holiday weekend.

People living in Wales should wait another 13 days after this to enjoy their outdoor bevvies on Monday, May 20, while Northern Ireland can expect to have the ideal weather conditions from Thursday, May 30.

Unfortunately, for those based in Scotland, they will need to wait a bit longer, with the Summer Solstice (Friday, June 21) expected to be the best date to start experiencing the perfect weather conditions for enjoying a drink in the garden.
