Exact dates when DWP Universal Credit claimants will start getting higher payments - see full list

If you claim Universal Credit, look down this list to see exactly when you will start getting more money.

The Department for Work and Pensions is bringing in higher payment rates. A 6.7% increase for all DWP benefits was announced in the Autumn Statement and is set to be implemented in April.

But there is still confusion over when Universal Credit claimants will actually get the new amounts. Rather than being applied to every individual's total payment, each separate element of Universal Credit is to be increased.

You will need a Universal Credit assessment period that starts on or after April 8 to see the rise in your payments. Any assessment starting before April 8 will be paid at the old rates, even if it begins just one day before, on April 7, so it's important to remember the cut-off point.

This means that if your assessment period runs from April 7 to May 6, you'll miss out on the higher rates by one day and they won't be added to your new payment when it goes into your account on May 13, reports BirminghamLive.
