Helen Flanagan has admitted she's 'exhausted' after sharing the truth behind part of her appearance. The actress has recently been back on social media after taking a lengthy break during a struggle with her mental health.

Helen, 33, opened up last month about what's been going on and told her fans how she'd been struggling with her mental health since before Christmas and then, earlier this year, had a 'bad reaction' to medication that sent her into 'psychosis'.

It come after fans first heard of her ill health was first mentioned when she was forced to pull out of her stage debut in Cluedo 2 - The Next Chapter where she was meant to play Miss Scarlett. However, a statement later revealed she had pulled out for "medical reasons" and was replaced by former co-star and Strictly Come Dancing winner Ellie Leach.

But Helen has since been comfortably sharing updates on social media and in her latest post, the mum-of-three was seen sharing the secret behind her bouncy blonde locks.

Taking to her Instagram Story, former Coronation Street star Helen posed up a storm for the camera in a plunging black gown. She's had her makeup applied to flawless perfection while her silvery blonde locks had been styled into soft glamourous curls.

"I have really fine hair, I would love naturally thick hair. Would be the dram," the soap star, who shot to fame playing Rosie Webster in the ITV soap, typed alongside the stunning snap. "I use clip-ins for my hair when I go out or want to look glam. Feel like it's the best option for me, as I'm a mummy of three so usually it's mum bun day to day.

"I don't like to see any extensions in my hair when I wear it up, which being a mum is the majority of the time. I use @swayhairextentions in Hollywood Ash Blonde clip-ins and then my hairdresser cuts them for me so they look really natural #gifted." She also shared a similar selfie to her main Instagram grid and said: "Marilyn vibes," referring to Hollywood icon Marilyn Monroe who she has a tattoo of.

She then added another beaming story to her Instagram Story as she said: "I like to be really blonde with my hair!" However, there was more reality on Friday morning (April 19) when she could be seen in a matching grey pair of pyjamas. As she held her hand across her head and took the mirror selfie, she laughed: "Exhausted since 2018 #mumlife."

It comes after Helen reflected on her life as a parent as she spent time with her children in Scotland last week. She shares three children with ex-fiancée Scott Sinclair: Matilda, seven, Delilah, five, and Charlie, two. Helen, from Bury, actually gave birth to Delilah at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow in 2018. The family lived there while footballer Scott played for Celtic.

Sharing a collection of photos with her one million Instagram followers, the star reflected on her time away. The first photo showed her and eldest daughter Matilda at Helen's 'special place' Loch Lomond.

Another captured her and all three children catching up with their former nanny. One photo showed the model looking slender in a low-cut snake-skin bikini, emerging from a swimming pool with her son Charlie. Captioning that specific photo, Helen reflected on being a 'boy mum', writing: "Swimming with the kids never thought when I lived in Scotland I’d be a boy mum as I was a proper girl mum".
