A Leicestershire country mansion with “great renovation potential” has failed to sell at auction for a second time. The guide price for Highfield House was slashed, but no deal was agreed.

The six-bedroomed property, described as “substantial” by SDL Property Auctions, went under the hammer again last week. It was the second time this year the home in Ibstock, near Coalville, had gone up for auction, after failing to sell in February.

Highfield House, labelled as “fabulous” in sales documents, is surrounded by 2.6 acres of land. SDL said it could be transformed into a “superb family home”.

The property boasts a grand hallway and five reception rooms. Alongside the six bedrooms, it also has two bathrooms and a cellar. A workshop which could become a home also formed part of the deal for would-be buyers.

Ahead of its auction last week, the price of Highfield House was slashed from £750,000 to £695,000 but it still failed to attract a buyer. More information about the property can be found on the SDL Property Auctions website.
