Stacey Solomon has been met with criticism from fans after some labelled her latest home transformation as unnecessary. The 34-year-old Loose Women presenter took to Instagram to showcase the makeover she gave to the greenhouse at her Pickle Cottage residence. Stacey claims to have revitalised her revamped glass space by painting the frames black and adding attractive decor inside.

In a video posted on her account, the mother-of-five, who is married to Joe Swash, spruced up the glass house by removing cobwebs and incorporating lights, rugs and plants.

In the caption of her video, Stacey confessed that it was one of the most demanding painting tasks she's ever tackled. Despite the strenuous effort, her greenhouse transformation took more than a day to finish, reports the Mirror.

Stacey wrote: "I DID IT! Brought Pickle Cottage Greenhouse Back To Life...30 hours in 30 seconds. Honestly, this was the hardest painting I've EVER done. But it was SO worth it. What do you think? This has been here since we moved in and we've grown our tomatoes in it but I was starting to hate going in there and I knew it could be so much more so I needed to sort it out! I can not even believe the before videos! I honestly am so happy with what a bit of paint (and hours and hours of time) can achieve! I can't wait to hide in here on a regular basis."

However, some of Stacey's followers on social media were quick to question her use of the greenhouse. One follower pointed out: "Sorry. But that is not the point of a greenhouse Stacey. But your choice."

Another added their concern: "Ummm have you thought this through! You can't sit in a greenhouse and also where are you going to plant everything!!" Another chimed in with doubts about the practicality: "Mmmm its a greenhouse... Not sure I see the point of the chair you'll be boiling." Meanwhile, a fourth follower expressed confusion over the purpose: "I love what u do but that's not the purpose of a greenhouse."

Despite the criticism, there was support for Stacey's innovative idea, with one fan expressing admiration: "So beautiful to see someone upcycling something that still has lots of life left in it, rather than just chucking and buying new. How special."

Stacey Solomon and her husband Joe moved into their plush new home in 2021, which is reported to be valued at over £1m. They have been sharing their home decoration journey with their online audience. For the latest TV and showbiz news, sign up to our newsletter.
