Fashion with a passion: what's on at St James's stylish LFWM event

London is a city known for its stylish occupants. And for a few days in June, the capital is set to look even better, as London Fashion Week Men’s (LFWM) rolls into town with a packed schedule of catwalk shows, presentations and parties. Returning for its 15th edition, LFWM is a celebration of the diverse style London has to offer, showcasing everything from tasteful tailoring to subversive streetwear, wearable workwear and luxurious leather goods.

Although most LFWM events are for industry insiders only, there is a way that you too can be part of the action. On 8 June, the one-of-a-kind neighbourhood of St James’s will once again play host to a festival of men’s fashion, the only LFWM event that’s open to the public.

Jermyn Street — the original home of menswear and the heart of St James’s — will be transformed into an open-air catwalk, providing a sartorial centrepiece that has to be seen. You can also look forward to exciting in-store events and limited edition buys accompanied by street food to boost the festival atmosphere.

Fashion shows will run throughout the day (12pm, 1.30pm and 3pm), featuring the vibrant and diverse brands the neighbourhood has to offer, from the iconic menswear stores of Jermyn Street and wider St James’s through to contemporary brands. Expect to see looks from Sunspel, John Smedley, Jigsaw Emporium and Barbour International.

With Catherine Hayward, fashion director of Esquire, in charge of the styling, you can expect ample inspiration for your summer wardrobe, covering not just what to wear but how to style it. “London is a major player on the international fashion scene and St James’s is home to some of the capital’s best-kept style secrets,” Catherine says. “Where else can you find such illustrious yet diverse names in the same neighbourhood?”

The show will be working on a see-now-buy-now concept, with the opportunity to purchase looks straight from the catwalk in stores across St James's. Now in its fifth year, the St James’s showcase is a unique opportunity to be on the front row of a sartorial celebration that’s not to be missed. Register for your free ticket here.
