The 60-year-old began his presenting reign back in 2006 but with Graham Norton rumoured as the safest bet to replace him, here are ten famous faces that could fulfil the role.

Here are the favourites (thanks to some lightening-quick odds-sharing from William Hill)…

Graham Norton 1/1

Fan fave Graham Norton, 54, immediately became the odds-on choice to take over from Fry, having earned his cred with the hugely popular The Graham Norton Show and doing a fine job with Eurovision presenting duties following on from the late Terry Wogan.

Claudia Winkleman 3/1

She would be such a contrast to Fry, in terms of not only adding a woman to the roster but because Winkleman, 45, is – how do we say this – brilliantly bonkers. She’s warm and funny, and would make the event approximately a million times more entertaining.

Jonathan Ross 6/1

Being a familiar TV personality has its advantages, especially if Wossy, 57, were to become the new host. Having established himself over many years on the small screen, the former BBC Film presenter and chat show host would make t his own with his renowed humour, that’s for sure.

Ricky Gervais 6/1

Having caused controversy at the 2010 Golden Globes, Gervais, 56, was invited back the following year and the one after that. The British comedian and actor would be a nervy choice for producers, that’s for sure but with Seth Meyers picked for the upcoming Globes ceremony, it means The Office star could be free to offend everyone all over again.

Richard Ayoade 8/1

An outside choice for many but arguably one of the best, Ayoade’s, 40, dry and brilliant wit is perhaps too ‘out there’ for some manistream audiences. But if The Crystal Maze is anything to go by he’d bring a hilarious sense of intellect and comedy to the show.

James Corden 10/1

Depsite a few hiccups in 2017 (mainly his Harvey Weinstein jokes at the annual amFAR gala in Beverly Hill), Corden, 39, still remains a hugely popular TV personality Stateside, with The Late Late Show and mega hit Carpool Karaoke proving popular.

Emma Thompson 12/1

True British acting royalty would go down a storm. With Thompson, 58, boasting movie credits such as Sense and Sensibility, Love Actually, Nanny McPhee, Harry Potter, and last year’s Beauty and the Beast, she’d be a great choice. It’d also be nice to see a woman present the night, wouldn’t it?, 58,

Jennifer Saunders 12/1

The Absolutely Fabulous star, 59, would be a good move because she’d be funny and witty, with a touch of sophistication – plain and simple, darling.

Dara O’Briain 16/1

Even if he does go off on a tangent on Have I Got News For You, there’s no denying Dara, 45, is a funny guy. We think he’d be a big hit with his likeably sensibilty, but the odds aren’t overly favourable towards the charismatic Irishman.

Stephen Mangan 16/1

The curly-haired comedian, 49, has plenty of experience in presenting awards shows, having done the Evening Standard British Film Awards between 2009 and 2013. He’s also a three-time British Academy Television Craft Awards host, don’t you know.

‘Graham Norton is the logical choice to take over from Stephen Fry but there are a number of names in the mix,’ William Hill spokesman Joe Crilly said.
