Fears grow for missing private school pupil, 15, who may have fled over cheating claims after he scored 100% on exam
The family of a missing teenager have urged him to come home after he vanished last week following claims he cheated in an exam.
High-achieving Abhimanyu Chohan, 15, fled from the King Henry VIII Independent School in Coventry four days ago after he scored 100% in a mock exam and was worried about getting into trouble.
He has not been seen since being dropped off at the private school on Friday morning by his mum.
Abhimanyu then changed his clothes and walked out of school and was caught on CCTV by the BP garage on the A45 Fletchamstead Highway in the city.
Dad Varinder Chohan, 46, said: âWe just want him back safe, this is so unlike him. Heâs a bit of a high flyer, heâs a smart kid but heâs not streetwise.
âWeâre worried he may have thought he was in trouble because he got top marks on a mock exam paper.
âWe think he might have seen the paper beforehand but weâre not sure exactly what happened.
âBut he was worried he might get in trouble because heâs never been in trouble before at all.
âI think he just panicked and took off but its been four days now and we are worried sick.

âHe hugged his mum at the start of the day and then walked off, weâve searched everywhere for him.â
Speaking to CoventryLive, Abhimanyuâs mum Navneet, 43, said that her son only turned 15 a week or so ago and âwas so happyâ.
She said: âI dropped him off and he must have then changed. I dropped him of at 8.17am and he was last spotted at 8.36am.
âPolice came and said âwe can do more but have to wait until we are on high alertâ.
âThey said maybe he is having time for himself and wants to clear his head.â
His aunt Manjit Sahota added: âHe is on his own and has no money. Anybody could pick him up and anything could go wrong.â
Coventry Police tweeted: âOfficers are concerned for his welfare after he disappeared from school, just before 8.30am on Friday (18 May). Abhimanyu is not in any trouble, we just need to know he is safe.â
In a statement on King Henry VIII Schoolâs official Facebook page, headmaster Jason Slack said: âWe are all concerned about Abhimanyuâs whereabouts and his safety and school is working closely with the family and the police to locate Abhimanyu as quickly as possible.â
Anyone with information about Abhimanyuâs whereabouts or believe that they may have spotted him are urged to contact the police immediately on 101.
