A female diver has become a viral sensation on TikTok after she boldly ignored a 'No Women' sign on a waterslide, with some viewers comparing the experience to "having an enema".

Rhiannan Iffland, an Australian who has clinched the world champion title in cliff diving seven times, shared her adventurous moment in a video that quickly amassed over 37million views in just under a week.

"Apparently this says women aren't supposed to do this slide," she captioned the video. "Went for it anyway. Just once, but did it!"

The footage shows Rhiannan taking the plunge down the steep slide at Austria's Area 47 adventure park, her screams echoing immediately after she starts her descent. TikTok users noted that the sign is likely there due to the 'high risk of injury' associated with the slide.

Labelled as Europe's fastest waterslide, thrill-seekers can hit speeds of up to 80km/h. A study in the National Library of Medicine highlights that "water under high pressure can produce vaginal injury", which probably explains the cautionary sign.

There have been reported cases where similar attractions have led to infections in women because of contaminants in the water.

One case examined by the study concluded: "Vaginal injury in premenarcheal patients may result from a water slide. The emergency physician must be aware of this potential injury mechanism and the need for complete examination under anesthesia when vaginal bleeding is present."

Rhiannan, who boasts almost 180,000 followers on social media, discovered that a sizeable portion of her audience had experienced what's humorously termed as 'water slide enema'.

One follower responded to the video stating: "Unfortunately I got a waterslide enema," and further added: "Peed out half the swimming pool in the toilet from my butt. I literally couldn't stand upright after it happened. Weirdest thing I've ever experienced."

There was surprise from another follower, who commented: "OMG I had no idea it had a name. Water slide enema. Perfectly describes what happened to me."

Decidedly, a third follower stated: "Never going on this type of slide again.. it did me so wrong. went straight to the toilet."

While a fourth follower expressed concern, saying: "The amount of people who got a water slide enema is scary. I've never even heard of that before. Well I just need one reason so thanks no more water slides for me."
