Outrage Over Female Cops In Mexico Forced Into ‘Attractiveness Inspections’

Women working for a notorious unit of all-female police officers have complained after they were subjected to “attractiveness inspections”.

Female officers were inspected by their male superiors and marked on their weight and appearance at the unit in Queretaro in Mexico.

The department caused controversy after President Enrique Pena Nieto published a photo alongside the female officers in 2013.

The division has since been downsized and two officers have complained to the state’s human rights commission.

Since a new police chief took over, the department has been scaled back to just seven officers.

The division was launched three years ago by retired general Rolando Eugenio Hidalgo Eddy, who wanted the female officers to work at social events.

There were 20 female officers and they were chosen for their looks and given a tight uniform, sunglasses and 4.7-inch heels to wear.

But the department has been downsized and the “sexy” uniform has been jettisoned.

The only female officer left in the reformed department Alma Rosa, applauded the move.

She said: “People would come to us, but they seemed puzzled as we did not look like real policewomen.

“Now that I’m an operative officer and I wear police shoes I feel much prouder.

“I was proud before, but now I feel prouder.”
