Firefighters Search for Survivors Following Landslide in Guizhou Province

At least 13 people were killed after a landslide hit China’s southwestern Guizhou province on Tuesday, July 23, Xinhua and Radio Free Asia reported.

The affected area was Shuicheng County in Guizhou’s Liupanshui City, and at least 42 people were missing in the aftermath of the landslide. The Chinese government pledged to set up a disaster relief fund worth around 30 million yuan (4.4 million USD) to assist the region, the South China Morning Post reported, citing state media.
