We’re big fans of the little treats that help get us through the day. And, while we certainly never turn down a Kit Kat or a handful of Doritos, sometimes our afternoon snack needs to have a bit more substance to get us out of a midday slump.

If you, too, like to sneak a little protein into snack o’clock, then you’re about to get the best of both worlds. The Hershey Company-owned brand, ONE—which is known for its Cookies & Creme and Maple Glazed Doughnut protein bars—is releasing the first-ever protein-packed Reese’s cup.

ONE Brands Launches Reese's and Hershey's Protein Bars

The co-branded protein bar, called Reese’s Peanut Butter Lovers, brings the Reese’s peanut butter flavor you know and love to a snack that’s filled with 18 grams of protein and only three grams of sugar. The protein cups have the same smooth PB taste on the inside—and outside, since they are for peanut butter lovers, after all.

“Many peanut butter flavored protein bars exist in the world, but only ONE Brands can do it with the real ingredients of Reese’s peanut butter,” said Bo Jones, ONE Brands' brand manager.

If you do want a little chocolate flavor, however, ONE is also teaming up with Hershey’s to bring a classic chocolate bar to the protein world. It’s introducing Hershey’s Cookies ‘n’ Crème-flavored protein bars, too, which have smooth white crème and crunchy chocolate cookie pieces similar to the OG candy bar. These better-for-you protein bars also feature 18 grams of protein and three grams of sugar.

While The Hershey Company has been selling protein bars since it acquired ONE Brands in 2019, this is the first time it’s brought its classic candy flavors to the protein world. Its competitor, Mars, also dipped its toe into the protein realm last year with the release of Snickers Hi Protein. So, it’s only natural that Hershey’s would follow suit soon enough.

Both Reese’s Peanut Butter Lovers and Hershey’s Cookies ‘n’ Crème protein bars are rolling out to shelves now. You can find them at retailers nationwide and on Amazon.

We’d imagine if these are a success, we’ll start to see more Hershey’s classics in protein bar form. Come to think of it, we wouldn’t mind some bite-sized protein Kisses or even chocolate and caramel-flavored, protein-packed Rolos in our future.
