Five tracks to hear this week (Sept 22-28)

Eye-popping: Björk
Eye-popping: Björk

The most spectacular new music video of the week is naturally Björk's, who turns an extravagant Gucci gown and plenty of CGI into an eye-popping display for The Gate, the first song from her upcoming ninth album.

Fall Out Boy’s seventh album, Mania, isn’t due until January, but there are already three hyperactive songs from the project available online. The Last of the Real Ones is the latest, with a video featuring folk in llama costumes on YouTube now.

Two albums and an appearance on Swedish Idol in, Tove Styrke is overdue a breakthrough in this country. Her latest single, Mistakes, is another striking blast of electropop.

Modern soul man Labrinth has been collaborating with The Weeknd and Sia lately, but seems no closer to releasing a second solo album. At least there’s a new single this week, Misbehaving, which should do well thanks to its placement in an Apple Watch advert.

After an underwhelming response to his literary efforts of recent years, it’s nice to see Morrissey back to the day job with an impressive new single, Spent the Day in Bed. It’s the first taste of a new album coming in November.
