The Flash will be missing Tom Felton's hilariously snide insults in its upcoming season.

The former Harry Potter star will be leaving the DC TV show after a single season playing super villain-turned-hero Julian Albert, according to Entertainment Weekly.

As of yet, there's no indication that Felton will even return for a guest appearance in The Flash's fourth season… but obviously that may change as the year rolls along.

Quick-witted CSI detective Albert was initially an adversary to both Barry Allen and The Flash, the latter admittedly without his knowledge or consent.

Unbeknownst to him, Julian had become the human vessel for Doctor Alchemy and had been re-awakening the powers of those evil meta-humans whose lives had been torn apart by the Flashpoint paradox.

However, Julian ultimately joined forces with Caitlin Snow (Danielle Panabaker) and the STAR Labs team when they helped him realise that he was being used by the speed god Savitar against his will.

The first look at The Flash's fourth season premiered at Comic-Con International over the weekend, tipping that Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) will return to Central City despite becoming the guardian of the speedforce.

It was also announced at Comic-Con last weekend that The 100's Neil Sandilands and Dominion's Kim Engelbrecht will be the new Big Bads this year as The Thinker and his genius engineer The Mechanic.

Other villains lined up for the autumn episodes include Danny Trejo as the cosmic bounty hunter Breacher and the return of Peek-a-Boo (Britne Oldford).

The Flash returns Tuesday, October 10 at 8pm ET on The CW in the US. Sky1 airs the show in the UK.
