Foodies Fest snubs Bristol as Bath added to list of locations for 2024

Bristol is not among the list of locations this year's Foodies Fest will be visiting, according to its website. The touring festival, which travels up and down the UK will be visiting three new locations this year, including nearby Bath.

It comes after BristolLive reported in April 2023 that the Bristol festival last year would go ahead after councillors granted permission despite police and environmental health objections. South Gloucestershire Council's licensing sub-committee heard the organisers had run the event 128 times across the country since 2005 without a single serious issue and that parking for 600 cars had been found in a nearby field, amid concerns about streets and driveways being blocked.

The three-day food and drink extravaganza which ran from Friday to Sunday, May 12-14, included demonstrations by celebrity chefs and a funfair, and has been held for several years on Clifton Downs. It was under threat after Bristol City Council refused to allow it back, citing poor management of the event.

BristolLive contacted Foodies Festival on April 30, 2024, to query if this was the reason behind the decision not to bring the festival to Bristol this year.

Foodies Festival will be located in Bath's Royal Victoria Park from June 7-9, 2024, and promises to 'serve up a star-studded line-up of celebrity and award-winning local chefs, and chart-topping music stars including Blue, Example and the Symphonic Ibiza Orchestra with live vocals and DJ'.

Known as 'Gastro-Glastonbury', the three-day event will feature live cooking demonstrations from TV celebrities and chefs from the likes of MasterChef, Great British Bake Off (GBBO) and Great British Menu. Stars include Great British Bake Off winner Matty Edgell, Great British Menu star and Chef Patron Josh Eggleton, MasterChef: The Professionals 2023 finalists Tommy Thorn and Kasae Fraser, ITV This Morning wine experts Joe Wadsack and Tom Surgey, and TV chef, author and cookery school owner, Nigel Brown.

Tickets to Foodies Fest range in price from £4 (child Day ticket) to £21 (adult Day ticket), with children under six going free, and weekend tickets from £42.
