Footasylum to open up new store in Aberdeen's Union Square

A fashion brand is set to open a new store in Aberdeen - and create 30 new jobs into the bargain.

Footasylum, one of the leading retailers of fashion streetwear and sportswear in the UK, is delighted to announce that it will be opening a new store in Aberdeen’s Union Square shopping centre, which will see 30 new jobs created across management, full-time and part-time roles.

The new 7,000 sq ft store will open to the public in early September, with an exact date to be confirmed in due course. It will be located on the ground floor of the Union Square shopping centre, in a unit formerly occupied by USC, and next door to Superdry and Superdrug.

The new store will feature a product mix across all categories – menswear, womenswear, juniors – and will showcase global brands from the likes of Nike, adidas and Under Armour, as well as Footasylum’s own brands such as Monterrain, Zavetti Canada, Dripmade, Alessandro Zavetti and Forena. There has also been a significant investment in the new store’s digital capabilities in order to create a digital-first customer journey that seamlessly connects Footasylum’s online and in-store offerings.

The new Aberdeen store is the latest in a line of Footasylum site openings and upsizings, as the company continues its ambitious expansion programme. Footasylum opened its 20,000 sq ft flagship Oxford Street store in September 2023, followed by the opening of upsized stores in Birmingham’s Bullring and the White Rose shopping centre in Leeds. Earlier this month, Footasylum also opened a 13,000 sq ft store in Gateshead’s Metrocentre.
