Frasier Enlists Greer Grammer to Play Roz’s Daughter Alice in Season 2

Roz isn’t the only Doyle reentering Frasier Crane’s orbit in Season 2 of the Paramount+ revival: Kelsey Grammer’s real-life daughter, Greer Grammer, has been cast as Roz’s all-grown-up daughter Alice, TVLine has confirmed.

Her casting comes on the heels of Peri Gilpin’s return as Roz in Frasier’s Season 1 finale. Gilpin will reprise her role as Dr. Crane’s former KACL sidekick on a recurring basis in Season 2. (According to our sister site Variety, Season 2 of the sequel series will find Roz contemplating leaving her longtime home of Seattle.)

Alice May Doyle was born in Season 5 of Frasier’s original NBC run. She was previously played by child actor Ashley Thomas in Seasons 10 and 11. “Now in her late 20s, friendly, outgoing Alice has inherited more than some of her mother’s free-spirited ways,” according to the official character breakdown. “Having just moved to Providence to study architecture, Alice is eager to catch up with Frasier’s son Freddy… and complicate whatever romantic plans he may have.”

Greer Grammer is best known to TV audiences for her starring role as Lissa Miller in the MTV comedy Awkward (2011-2016). Additional credits include ABC’s The Middle and Freeform’s Melissa & Joey, and the Netflix original movie Deadly Illusions.

Frasier once again stars Grammer as psychiatrist Frasier Crane — a role he originated on Cheers and then continued on his own spinoff, Frasier — who has now moved back to Boston to reconnect with his son Freddy, taking a job teaching at Harvard along the way. Jack Cutmore-Scott co-stars as Freddy, with Nicholas Lyndhurst as Frasier’s pal and fellow professor Alan, Toks Olagundoye as department head Olivia, Jess Salgueiro as Freddy’s friend and roommate Eve, and Anders Keith as Frasier’s nephew David.

The revival debuted on Paramount+ in October, and was renewed in February. A Season 2 release date has not yet been announced.
