Full Greater Manchester weather forecast as Met Office makes temperature prediction

It will start to feel a lot warmer and brighter in Greater Manchester - with temperatures climbing to 24C over the coming days.

After a chilly-feeling start to June, it will finally feel warmer in our region this week as temperatures rise to the average or above average for this time of year. According to the Met Office, conditions will likely remain dry with sunny and cloudy intervals forecast.

Today (Wednesday), highs of around 20C are expected during the afternoon. It is set to be a largely cloudy day in Greater Manchester though we will see some sunny intervals.

A similar picture is forecast for Thursday, though it will feel warmer as the mercury climbs to 22C. Over Friday and Saturday, more sunny and cloudy conditions are predicted with temperatures reaching around 21C.

Sunday is forecast to be a largely bright and sunny day. From Monday, temperatures are set to climb even more with the mercury reaching highs of 23C at the start of next week and 24C on Tuesday.

Met Office forecasters said that overall in the UK, we will now see a 'gradual trend' of 'more settled, warmer weather'. This could 'persist for several days leading to a spell of hot weather with winds from the south or southeast'.

Deputy chief meteorologist Mark Sidaway said: "In stark contrast to the first half of June, where temperatures have widely been below average, we are expecting to see a steady uptick through the second half of this week, rising to around or above average, and it will likely feel very warm for those in the sunshine."
