"Full of laughter" Hereford care home up for award

A HEREFORD care home has been nominated for an annual award.

Holmer Court, in Attwood Lane, has been put forward for the ‘health or care team of the year’ accolade in this year’s Hereford Times Health and Social Care Awards.

The team were nominated by a member of the public, Joanne Windows, who said that the staff at the home work tirelessly to create a wonderful environment for all the residents. She said that everyone goes above and beyond to ensure residents and their families feel safe, cared for and loved.

Ms Windows commented upon the wealth of activities provided, enabling residents to have fun and lead meaningful lives within the home whilst also demonstrating the creative, outgoing attitude of the workers.

“I think the manager has used her experience, knowledge and skills to help all the staff see the value of their role working Holmer Court and this results in a vibrant, happy home full of laughter and kindness and helps the residents continue to create lovely memories,” said Ms Windows.

“You only have to see the happy faces of residents and staff, hear their laughter or talk to people to know that the team has created a wonderful home.

“I have recommended it to many people and they have all shared my experiences and agree that it is indeed a truly special home and one we are lucky to have in Hereford.”

The Health and Social Care Awards is an annual award ceremony, held by the Hereford Times, to recognise the hard work, dedication, innovation, and care delivered across our county’s health and social care sector. The Health and Social Care Awards 2024 will take place on Thursday October 3, 7pm at the Hereford racecourse, but the closing date for nominations is August 4, 2024.
